is it possible to wire money to a bank in Myanmar yet? 

 

wasn't that long ago I remember going to a hotel room to exchange money. can't remember the name of the hotel, one of the older ones now. 

 

 

AFAIK, (I came back to Thailand from working in Myanmar 3 months ago), You can only wire to a bank using Western Union ==> meaning that the banks in Myanmar are not yet fully connected to the international banking system.

 

The banking connections have improved a lot over the past few years, and now your foreign ATM card usually works OK to withdraw cash if you're in the country.
