VF, what is that on the underside of the branches in the photo above? Not bee hives surely?

Yes, beehives and over twenty of them in the one tree.  Pretty impressive, right?

A quick Google search will give price and spec comparisons between different brands and models.  I don't think we need to focus too much on brands and prices.  We all have different reasons for liking what we like and I think that is perfectly normal and okay.

Google ?   what's that ?   I don't google over the girls any longer

haha.....just pullin your leg.   I will do my research

They look like bee hives to me.  Here's some similar ones on a tree near one of the Sisaket waterfalls.

I enjoy the landscapes but posting your meals is very teen age girl Facebooky. I'm sure you're better than that.

Thanks. I did not know that posting photos of meals is teenage like, only for girls and only on FB allowed. I enjoy seeing meals ... and I post many of them, too. Especially my self cooked ones ... so be warned and put me on ignore if this site supports that.

What actually happens when I travel back upcountry is ...

Just out of curiosity how many snakes would one expect to run across in a field like that?

Last harvest, around November, on a field like that, the workers of my wife caught a single snake. I guess the other *two*  or *three* got away ... it was the only snake I noticed over a course of 5 month. But I have a 40cm big Tokay in my house, if that counts. A wild one obviously, I guess he thinks it is his house.

Most enjoyable thread since a while. I had loved to read the troll posts to laugh my ass off.

If you are interested I can post some animal and landscape pictures from Issan, I spent the last 5 month there, just back in Europe since monday. But craving to get back ... probably the most rural town you can imagine. Well ... there are smaller ones, obviously. Nakoo, Nakae District, Nakhon Phanom province.

So I guess my question for everyone is, “What have you done today, this week or this month to reinvigorate your life here in Thailand, to challenge yourself, to expand your horizons and to show your partner how much you love them?”

bunged her 20 baht for a double ice cream...............im trying not to spoil her though.

Just getting out of bed is challenge enough most days

Yes, there are snakes about, because at the start of every wet season I see a bunch of them, unfortunately, squashed on the roads after they've come out of the fields, and in the cold season I see quite a few crossing the dirt tracks where I ride my push bike, but I've never seen one while actually walking across a field.  Probably because they've had more time to get out of the way.

Their eggs can also be found occasionally:

What I find incredible is that most of the fields in Isaan will soon be dried out and rock solid, but every year, come the rain, they are crawling with fish.

My Wife  was given a motorbike ,  long story of a Japanese man deported from Thailand, not his  fault , really nice guy and I stripped it  down from its disgusting  colour as it had been abused by his staff yet was only 2  years  old.

Changed  oil, air  filter spark plugs drain crankcase breather pipe and gave it a thorough check over.

I replaced many of the plastic  parts which arrived a  few  days back as they are very VERY cheap here, would cost a fortune in the UK New  bike is 58k parts cost 6k, all the plastics and the seat

Today ripped off the exhaust sanded it down and  repainted it amongst other things.........thats what I find interesting/enjoyable...............before in "vomit  yellow" and after.....

youd know all about that, you have zero evidence, I have masses you are welcome to do a google  search but I dont think this is  the thread for religion, but you brought it  up.

"belief" = meaningless

Let's not derail this happy, lovely thread.

To be clear, I do not appreciate bickering over beliefs and consider proselytizing petty and a waste of time.  Believe what you wish but leave others alone.  No one likes being told they are wrong and no one is going to change their minds.

Personally I do not believe in gods, magic or superstition and my wife and I don’t agree on everything but we are never disagreeable.  Being able to accept others and leave them be is a sign of maturity, respect and self-confidence, in my opinion.????

Lungfish are best known for retaining characteristics primitive within the Osteichthyes, including the ability to breathe air...

One of the things I really enjoy about living up here in the North is if you just slow down and look around the abundance of various insects and wildlife is really quite amazing.

Our flowering trees attract a plethora of insects. Some quite large as you can see from the pic and you can hear them flying.

Saw this big fella while riding my mountain bike along the river today.

Its starting to warm up now and things are becoming quite dry.

Loving the thread. Sometimes I wish the mods would not remove the troll posts because like you, I like reading how self deluded and pathetic some posters are ????

Our air quality took a real turn for the worse, yesterday.  We are living in a grey world with no shadows.  Sure hope it doesn't last too long.????

The days are getting warmer, but the nights are still fairly cool.  The Pomelo blossoms are gone now, but last night the Orange Jasmine, which smells even nicer, suddenly burst into flower.
