The US led Cobra Gold 2019 security cooperation exercise personnel are arriving in Thailand. 4,500 US military personnel will be coming to Pattaya in the next 2 weeks. Advance party has already arrived. See here for more details:

Arrival, unloading and staging of exercise military equipment is scheduled for Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 8 a.m. – Chuk Samet Port, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. Cobra Gold Opening Ceremony: Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. – Camp Akatotsarot Muang District, Phitsanulok Province.

 

These guys and gals will be looking for some R&R. Most bars, restaurants, ladies and hotels should be very happy. Lots a baht will be changing hands!! Soi 6 is off-limits.

It's off limits because of past problems/fights/brawls, especially with the ladyboys. Just too many aggressive ladyboys on that Soi. It takes only one ladyboy touching/pawing/seducing the wrong guy which results in a punch, then the brawl starts.

 

They will be given this warning prior to leave, and if found on the Soi, will be arrested. Not all MPs are dressed in uniform.

 

Lots of other Soi that offer unspeakable pleasures for a sailor, no need to risk arrest and cancellation of shore leave.

Not quite true, they were fighting over the ladyboys, not with them.
