Two Russian tourists die in Patong Hill crash

Two Russian tourists have died following a crash on Patong Hill last night.

 

The Patong Police were notified of the incident at 10.30pm on Phra Baramee road at the hair-pin curve on the way up the hill from Kathu. 

 

Emergency responders arrived and found a damaged passenger pickup truck. The driver was 47 year old Thavorn Glasueak.

Especially Patong Hill or any surraunding roads from and to Patong.

The tarmac on Patong Hill is awful and any sort of moisture makes it extremely slippery, could be a mitigating factor maybe?

As I said, too fast.

That Russian embassy will busy when it opens in Phuket

How many have died on that hill there? Kinda bizarre how on top it suddenly changes lanes and makes u drive straight into the upcoming traffic!

Sad but true these tourists don't know what they are doing.

Nightly excursion on a scooter with pillion rider in a foreign country on a hilly road.

Do they have such hills in Siberia (where most Russian tourists come from)?
