Acting School Director Falls to Death While Repairing Roof Damaged by Storm
Picture from Khoasod. The teaching staff and parents of Wat Daeng School in Nonthaburi were left heartbroken after the tragic death of the acting school director, Phutthawat Kongwong, aged 56, who fell from the roof of the school building while attempting to repair storm damage. The incident occurred on September 22, when Phutthawat climbed onto the roof to fix tiles that had been torn off by heavy rain and winds, causing water leaks into classrooms. Thongsai Yenprasert, President of Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO), confirmed the incident. Phutthawat, who was also the deputy director of Wat Salak Nua School, was serving as the acting director of Wat Daeng School in Sai Ma Subdistrict. He fell from the fourth floor while trying to repair a hole in the roof. Phutthawat was rushed to Phra Nang Klao Hospital but succumbed to his injuries passing away at 12:30 on September 24. Suntaree Kaewpetch, a kindergarten teacher, described Phutthawat as a cheerful and kind-hearted leader who often treated his colleagues as family. On the day of the accident, a Sunday, he had come to the school, as he often did on weekends, to ensure the school's safety and inspect any damage. Upon learning from a teacher that storm winds had damaged the roof, Phutthawat and another teacher went to check the situation on the fourth floor. Seeing the large gap in the roof caused by the storm, he decided to fix it himself, fearing that the problem would worsen if left unattended, especially with students expected to return on Monday. Despite warnings from colleagues, Phutthawat climbed a ladder to reach the roof. Tragically, while nearing the damaged area, he lost his footing and fell through the ceiling, landing in the bathroom below. He was found unconscious with severe head injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. The school community has been deeply affected by his passing. Virat Sritlalai, an elementary teacher who witnessed the event, recalled how he had warned Phutthawat not to climb the roof and expressed profound grief over the incident. Phutthawat's selfless dedication to his students and staff, even on his days off, was evident in his final moments. Phutthawat's body will be laid to rest at Wat Daeng Thammachart, where a funeral service will be hosted by the school staff and Nonthaburi PAO. Discussions are underway regarding potential support for Phutthawat's family in recognition of his contributions to the school. -- 2024-09-24 -

These breeds are born with the attack ability in their very nature and generally shows up as a puppy when they are Chewing on wooden furniture etc. If they can't or won't be trained out of this practice then it should be taken a Human preservation organisation and put down. The owners are responsible for this event and "Sorry" doesn't come close to covering this preventable death. -

Picture courtesy of SiamChon. Pattaya police received a report at 20.05 on September 24, of a body found near a pond in a deserted area off Soi Thepprasit 17, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The report was received by Lt. Col. Sanan Kotanont, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya Police Station (Dongtan Branch), who immediately informed his superior, Pol. Col. Navin Theerawit, and a team of investigators, along with rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Foundation, rushed to the scene. The location was a large, overgrown area with a large pond. Beside a mound of earth, authorities found the body of a man, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old. The man was wearing a blue T-shirt, black track pants with red stripes, and black sneakers, which had been removed and placed near his feet. Next to the body, police found a small towel and a pair of glasses. It was estimated that the man had been dead for at least 10 hours. Near the pond, authorities also discovered a fishing rod with bait cast, which was collected as evidence. Initial reports indicate that a local resident, who had come to fish in the area, stumbled upon the body and immediately alerted the authorities. As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. Authorities are investigating missing persons reports and have sent the body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
