Video: Thais show their concern for "Gyrating Guides"

Thai Rath reported that concerned netizens showed their concern after a pair of girl guides were seen strutting their stuff hanging onto the back of a song thaew in Southern Thailand.

But not all took it seriously saying that kids should be left alone to be kids.

Thai Rath quoted a number of posters after the video was uploaded to "Khon Tai Jai Tem" on Facebook. It looked like the incident happened somewhere in Thailand's south.

Wasuporn Naka said: "You are young women - that's not nice. It's also dangerous and in the event the driver brakes sharply you could fall down and die".

Napat Limsawat agreed saying that the driver would be in trouble if there was an accident.

However Sunisa Ritthiuklap remembered her own school days: "It's just kids having fun being kids. The teachers should advise them about safety."

No more fun allowed in this country!?

The "bad image guards", crawling out of their holes and starting to show concern about every BS,

but not about the "real" issues.

It's getting ridiculous...

If, as a so called concerned netizen, why not try to stop this all too common practice.....

Well what are you supposed to do when you grip a chrome pole?

There are some real low lifes on this forum.  How do they equate young girls having fun with their predilection for whores in Pattaya?  These guys should hang their heads in shame at their thought processes, it borders on paedophilia.

The guy with the dash-cam should have backed-off a bit instead of trying to get a close-up; he would have creamed them if they had fell-off!  I sometimes wonder if any Thai driver has anything between their ears!

Damn I say. Use my motto. Bagpipers put the FUN back into Funerals.

Let kids be kids, until they 85 yo OK.

Probably 'creamed' himself looking at them.

They'll be lucky to reach that age.

Personally I'd be far more concerned about that atrocious (yet normal) lack of safety in the mode of transport than the dancing.

Where do girls dance like that on silver poles? I don't remember that lesson from dancing school.

Yes, they have fun. And even if they do more or less the same as gogo dancer doesn't mean they will end up as gogo dancers.

Maybe you should relax a little. And maybe also look up the definition of pedophilia.

Advise....A little more effort wouldn't hurt. I've seen these "school transports" in Nakhorn si Thamarat, packed with children, going over 100kmh. Just unbelievable.

can anyone explain whats the origins of these gyrating videos? Did it evolve from the twerk? or did it catch on with some local pop star gyrating to their song?

Only "Vacuum".

Like some members of TV!

As long, as it doesn't hurt, there will be no cure...

Same ideas like the concerned netizens I presume?

There are nightclubs all over the world  that have pole dancers.  Any of the people who watch "The Kardashians" will recall the young Kendall and Kylie gyrating around their older sisters pole in their house.  There are quite a few exercise routines that also use poles.  Long gone are the days when they were only seen on stages with strippers.

Looks to me like the girls were enjoying an otherwise extremely tedious ride.  Good for them!

This government spends so much money on crap the country does not need (e.g. time to change the light bulbs for 500,000 baht at some government office), why not buy school buses for schools so children can be transported safely?  The girls were only dancing like all little girls do and these children should not be publicly shamed. Normal.

As a child I would swing on what is (was?) called monkey bars.  I was talented, don't you know, but did not realize I was actually a little whore boy.

No! Please not!

I never watched the kardischans but it's impossible not to see sometimes picture and headlines about them.

I guess if I had a daughter and she would tell me she saw some videos of gogo bars and she learned the moves from there that would be acceptable. But if she would tell me she learned it from the kardischands then that would be really the moment to sit down and have some important conversation because everything goes completely nuts.

All I can think is how wonderful it must be to experience moments like these two girls -- bursting with life and energy and youth and impervious to the fact that they will not live forever.  Cherish these moments, young ladies.  I am totally envious.

haha, ever heard of youtube?

Thai girls can’t dance. So cringeworthy watching them trying to twerk or bounce that that god awful Thai music blaring in the back. Look like toothpicks. Yet they look so beautiful doing traditional Thai dancing.

Oh well, never too late to find your real calling in life, good for you!

More to do with the music than the ability I reckon... ????

No it never ended in whoring.  I was gyrating on the monkey bars.  But I guess when you swing and move your body you don't have to become a whore.

Agreed, kids having fun. Makes me think of my Thai partner's 18 year old daughter who is both smart and as good as gold but is nuts about K-Pop (Korean music).

She could easily have been one of these two girls.
