Korat woman drowns in reservoir

By The Nation

A woman drowned while collecting oysters with her husband in a reservoir in Nakhon Ratchasima's Huay Thalaeng district on Saturday morning, police said.

Scuba divers took about an hour to search for and retrieve the body of Timnoi Jampamool, 46, from the Lam Chakaj reservoir in Ban None Sawan village in Tambon None Pradu.

Her husband, Thai Jampamool, told police that they were newcomers to the village and they did not know that there are deep parts at the bed of the reservoir. Timnoi stepped on an area that was about 4-metres deep, in the past it was just neck deep, and disappeared under the water.

Her body was sent for a formal autopsy at the district hospital.

...as he may have aquired a new oyster himself...

Why wasn’t she wearing scuba gear?

tit

A newcomer non-swimmer should surely have been carrying a long pole to test the depth of the water? Maybe in her next life.

Oysters in reservoir ? I thought they only survive in seawater or rivermouth.
