Thais on the road: Bicyclist called "Fuse" seems to have a fuse loose!

9pm.jpg

A video of a young man riding a bicycle without a helmet just inches from the back of a bus found its way to a bicycle site on Facebook.

The rider was seen going fast through a tunnel then continuing down a road behind the number 108 bus.

The admin of the page - Ruam Nak Pan Meu Mai Yak Phom Sukhaphap Dee" - managed to locate the rider and give him a warning.

And they gave him a helmet.

People in the video are amazed at his recklessness saying that riding such as this was asking for trouble and an accident would mean problems for the bus driver too.

Sanook found out that his name was "Fuse" and that he was copying something he saw on YouTube.

He had previously featured in a story while at school in which he was praised by his teachers for helping his mum sell food items in Thonburi. He was said to be a good kid.

I don't know any serious cyclist who hasn't at least fantasized about drafting a fast, square shaped vehicle to get up some speed with minimal effort.  We did it as kids in high school and college.

Amazing !! he found a bus not belching thick black smoke.....

Does hoping for the bus to make an emergency stop make me a bad person?

He ain't daft; he knows that the Bus won't stop quick because here they all suffer from Brake failure !

if you know where the bus stops are this is a reasonable risk if you want to move at bus speed in slipstream.

of course Thailand nothing is predictable on road except for shitty driving skills

Wake up Thailand you driving without helmets too on motorbikes with high speed and alcohol in your blood

You are so dubble moral here

I used to do this regularly as a kid, in those days the rear brakes on most trucks were operated by a central mechanical linkage. I rode watching this link, when it moved I braked, my braking time and distance was far less then the truck so it was very safe.

A fuse has blown in his brain, that's for sure.

Looks to me like he is using the bus 'tow' to make the ride up the slope easier, not too dangerous in that case

He sure has a loose fuse and is in love with a woman he saw on a bus????

No, that's not what makes you a bad person.

The bus wont have any brakes to stop, so this mobile speed hump can go a bit further
