A man was arrested on Monday over the murder of a 48-year-old uniformed nurse, whose body with multiple stab wounds to the chest and a slit throat was found on Sunday morning in a sedan abandoned on a roadside near Ayutthaya’s Phachi Hospital where she worked, a source at Phachi police station said.

An Faksiri, 33, a former employee of Phachi Hospital, was apprehended in the area near Wat Lad Chid in Phak Hai district under a warrant for his arrest over the murder charge, the source said, adding that Provincial Police Region 1 chief Pol Lt-General Ampol Buarapporn would announce the results of the initial investigation into the case on Tuesday.

Following the discovery of nurse Srisupang Suwannasilpa’s body at 8am on Sunday, police had been hunting for a mysterious heavy-set man who had been captured in the early hours of Sunday on a CCTV camera abandoning the sedan that was later found to contain her body.

This resulted in the arrest warrant for An being issued and his being apprehended as the suspect.

As of press time, police continued to probe further into the motive behind the killing, while also searching for the murder weapon.

Quick work for once, glad he's off the streets and not fleeing further afield!

Would be nice to know what his motive was to perpetrate such a heinousness crime?
