New rules for seasoning money in bank accounts for Non-O Guardian visa

Featured Replies

Hello. My wife has what seems to be called a Non-O guardian visa extension. She got a Non-O several years ago based on having foreign kids in international schools in Thailand. Every year she gets an extension of that visa by having 500k THB in the bank for more than 3 months before obtaining the bank letter and statement of account needed for the annual 1 year extension. Now there seem to be new rules with regard to retirement extensions of 800k and marriage extensions of 400k where it seems they can do some sort of income verification from abroad combinations but where the visa is dependent on a large lump sum deposit the person needs to show the bank book 90 days after the extension to show that it hasn’t gone below some amount and also has to at all times throughout the following year between extensions never let the skinny fall below some threshold. Does anyone know what rules and amounts would now apply for those on a Non-O guardian extension based on being the parent of children in international schools which normally require 500k in the bank seasoned for 3 months?

There are no changes to the clause of the police order for the extension of stay based upon being the parent of child attending school here.

Only the requirements for an extension of stay based upon retirement has changed.

My wife extended her Non-O visa being a Guardian for our son  attending school in Bangkok, at Chaeng Wattana two weeks ago. First extension so only needed 2 months seasoning.

All she needed for financials was updated bank pass book and bank letter confirming the Bt500k was still there.

No change of rules after 1st March that I can see.
