Ceiling painting cost?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking to get some quotes to have my lounge/kitchen ceiling painted but need an idea of an approximate price to expect. I don't mind painting the walls myself but can't stand doing ceilings!

The size is appox 40 m2 and i'm located in Hua Hin. Any suggestions?

f the ceiling is in good shape with no peeling or dirt, it will be a simple job. Peeling will require scraping and possibly fill or sanding etc depending on the substrate.

Cleaning or scrubbing might be needed especially if there has been cigarette or cooking residue. Allow for that.

Work on 11 or 12 m2 for a litre of paint.  You might want to add another sealer or key coat before your two coats of top coat. Allow for anti fungal/mold  treatment in the paint.

You need to allow drying time so it might be three or 4 visits from the painter (cleaning, primer undercoat / key coat, first top coat, second top coat.)

Allow say 2 hours for basic clean + travel and set up time = 3 hours

Paint each coat + prep and clean up time = 2 hours x three coats = 6 hours

Paint = 4 litres rounded up per coat + mold inhibitor = ????  THB per litre

Incidentals for painter = = 500 THB assumed

Labour and experience per hour = ???? THB

travel time = ???? THB
