JOM, was both a problem for both picks and really dollars, high 700s for five years. Hawthorn were dealing with 2017/8 problems early in a list management stratagem that gave them players and cap. I do subscribe to the Sam Mitchell hyperbole and the spin they put on it. S mitchell is a very shrewd person if transiting to coaching was his best move then this is it at WC. And a massive upside for the eagles. No brainer. Stranger was Jordan lewis. Hodge is untouchable, and done next year, but it was all to fall to Lewis cepting he heard of the talk trade stuff. It unpicked things a little. I don't think he is worth three years at melbourne, bad deal for the dees, but coupling those two trades, 2017 first rounder and two seconds this year and cap relief gave the hawks T mitchell [a gun without doubt] and JOM. Bold stuff. But Sam Mitchell is a player any club is better with. List wise, first 22 and just in the change rooms. Do not underestimate culture, character and drive. Monday is the pre-season and rookie draft day so have another couple of days to sweat on the possible recruitment of the Big Dish. Hard to make an assessment of the draft for WC really.
