However one with half a noggin would understand to bat 1st in a final has got to be worth at least 20 runs regardless of the score made.???? I'm hearing you mate. Was gutted after we put them in. Voges is a spud. I'm not letting Turner off either. Did the same thing in the last game against the Heat. At the end of the day, it's his call. Our leggie is only going at just over 5 an over and he only bowls him 3 overs....<deleted>? I reckon our only chance was to bat first and try and defend 170. I'm still filthy. Edit** Jhye Richardson fell off a cliff his last 5 games too. Edited February 7, 2021 by Will27

Yep........but.........rain was forecast, and according to Ch 7's expert commentators, the team batting second has a huge advantage in rain shortened games coz they have all ten wickets in hand and can wallop the ball. Ridiculous argument in my books as the Duckworth Lewis System takes all factors into consideration in setting a target score.........including having all batsmen available. For example, in the semi final between The Scorchers and The Heat, The Scorchers made 189 in 18.1 overs before the wet stuff fell. The Heat wad given 18 overs (one fewer ball than the Scorchers) to make 200 to win (11 more than the Scorchers) . The DLS calculated that there was less chance of The Heat losing all ten wickets and so, set a higher target. Maybe Voges/Turner were influenced by the drivel , saw the gloomy skies and elected to bowl first.............and spreaking of James Brayshaw, am I the only one who thinks he is a first class knob? In a game last week, three times in the space of half and hour, he described Josh Philippe as being 'an outrageous talent.' Bring back Bill Lawry I say.

The only thing I miss about Channel 7 would is Ricky Ponting's commentary. For those who clubs haven't had a lot of success lately, I read somewhere that it's been 6000 days since Essendon last won a final. FMD, I get cheesed off if we miss the top 4.

Popular Post AlexRRR
Forgive them father for they know not what they do......i recall that from my catholic school days.....Magic Door or in this case sliding doors just slides from Arden st on over to the MCG, hey Dee's dont worry about blowing another 400,000 for nothing...another Mitch Brown....does well in pre season games then gets to play 2 games during the season....( and he is still on the list by the way)......just what we need another 30+ hack to add to the other 30+ hack we already have just because he is 7 feet tall..... If this is not grounds for a divorce i dont know what is....whats Bartlet doing there? allowing them dicks the scope to do things like this after last seasons boo boo....We need a Don Scott there to keep them walking the straight and narrow...he came out and gave Kennet a serve over not hitting it on the head for a Tassie move.... So if you haven't heard Dark Magic Daw who had signed up to play for North Hidelburg ....over my side of town who's coached by Brent Harvey was offered a paying run around Casey, so you know...with Brown and the Weed out for half a season and mind you Goodwin wanted to chop big Tom and you know move him on all off a sudden finds himself some talls down...frigging idiot....mate i cant wait to see the back of Goodwin....Josh has gone......thats half the dudd team gone...hey whats does Bartlet do in the long room during meetings? Look if i still had a membership id be cutting it up and sending it back.....No men Daw is finished....even Goodwin's plan is flawed....North showed the only time they got anything good out of Magic was when he went down back....cant ruck cant play forward can only go in one direction....i got splinters under my finger nails scratching my head trying to work out what they were thinking....Well i cant forgive......was better to pull a name out of a hat from one of the VFL teams men....gees...... 2
Popular Post Will27
Here you go FJ. Paul Roos on new North Melbourne role, ‘insulting’ coaching process claims Paul Roos has revealed he will have a match-day role in the North Melbourne coaches’ box. And on Sunday Roos labelled “insulting” suggestions that his urging David Noble to apply for the senior coach role meant the latter’s appointment was a forgone conclusion. Roos officially joined North Melbourne last week in a role that will include mentoring of coaching staff and executives, as well as a football role on game day. In his first interview at his new club, he told the Herald Sun he was excited about the blend of experience and emerging talent on North Melbourne’s list. Roos is just back from two weeks in Sydney hotel quarantine after returning from overseas and has run smack bang into Melbourne’s five-day lockdown. But in his first days at the club, he already has a good idea of what his new role will look like. "Nobes and I already have a great relationship, so it’s just about formalising what they need from me,” Roos said. “I know pretty well what it looks like, so we will take the next three weeks to go in and observe and decide. “I think where I can help will be sitting in the box and observing and helping. “The football department is a little skinny in terms of what it was in the past (given new footy department caps). “I am really conscious that David is the senior coach and that’s his role. My role is to do the best for North Melbourne. “So game day is an area when I can help, and then there will be some kind of review process, and we are going through that.” Noble said this month he only strongly considered the North Melbourne role when Roos called to convince him that he had what it took to cross from his job as Brisbane Lions football boss. Some commentators wondered if fellow contenders Daniel Giansiracusa and Robert Harvey ever had a chance, given that strong endorsement, but Roos says the reality is exactly opposite. “It’s a bit insulting when I hear that,’’ Roos said. “One of the biggest things for me was getting as many people to the line as we could. “There wasn’t an Alastair Clarkson or John Longmire-type person, so everyone in the process had an opportunity to get the job. “I have been asked to be on coaching selection panels before, and there are times when you already know who is going to get the job, so I declined. “I said, when this was put to me, we need to be really transparent about this and put everyone through the process. “I know David Noble and I played with him, and what helped him commit was when he trusted that we would run a full process. “That gave him confidence he would get heard. “We wanted as many strong candidates as we could and he just stood out through the process. The things we saw on his resume he was able to articulate. He got the job 100 per cent through the way he interviewed.” Roos is confident North Melbourne can find an onball role for ex-Collingwood forward Jaidyn Stephenson and is reunited with former Greater Western Sydney midfielder Dom Tyson, who he lured to Melbourne in a swap that saw the Giants draft Josh Kelly. “Dom is super talented and is one of the main reasons we went from two wins to 10 wins, so I hope he can get a good run at it,’’ Roos said. “You talk about Rising Star awards, you have to be a really good player to win that, so Jaidyn has got some real talent to work with. “Collingwood had expectations of him as a key forward, and it’s a really hard role to play. Our expectations will be slightly different.”
