Sangkran is some way reminds me of my brief visit to Planet Beta III.   I noticed a strangeness in the people we encountered, a kind of contented mindlessness expression on their faces. Then, at six o'clock, the red hour strikes – the beginning of the Festival, a period of debauchery and lawlessness.

Did you come up with that yourself? Not that it is proprietary or anything, but people I worked with back in 80’s used the term “festival” as a slang term for Songkran. So yes, its been used, and a lot.

However those people probably grew up with original Star Trek. Today not so much. I have used it, had to explain it. Which results in a puzzled look, and a what the heck are you talking about response. Ah, someone who knows.
