I have a 1 bedroom condo with two Mitsubishi air conditioners.  I have two remotes which appear to be typical.  Where is the actual thermostat?  Is it in the A/C unit itself or is it in the remote?

The remotes are stored in little wall mounted hangers which I am not sure are in the optimal locations so if that is where the actual thermostats located, I will move them.

There is normally a sensor at the incoming air flow area (under filter) - so will measure the hot air high in the room.

Temperature is usually measured at the indoor unit. Quite common to have two sensors one near to the outer casing and another at the evaporator coil.

Thanks all.  I was just thinking that the remote has similar functions to the wall mounted thermostats that I am more familiar with so I had thought that maybe the remote contained the thermostat.  Thanks for straitening  me out
