Hi, I would like to get a driving license in Chiangrai sometime this summer, starting from the written test to the driving test. As a foreigner, what do I have to do? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Doctor exam certifying your healthy enough to drive, color blindness test, ability to move foot from gas pedal to brake in fraction of seconds...sit through driving video, take 50 question computerized road signs and driving safety quiz...and then the actual driving test...

Parallel parking...stop and go on small hill if driving a manual shift...drive straight through a section with pylons on both sides...back all the way out without touching a pylon...

This last test may require some practice...you must drive the car next to a curb on the passenger side and stop at the specified location...within approximately 10 inches from the curb...you may kiss the curb with your tire once...2 or more disqualifies you...you will be rescheduled to take parts of practical you fail...

The key to passing the curb test is to position the passenger side mirror down so that you can see your back tire...and curb when it comes into view...practice before taking test...

You can purchase a driving manual at most book stores...there are loads of online videos...

Good Luck!
