Grab Taxi App

Featured Replies

On the Grab app home screen I see 7 options:  car, bike, food, delivery, groceries, tip planner, rewards.  Nothing for taxi.  (The "car" option orders a private car, not a taxi, in my experience.)  This is on Android.  I understand that iPhones are different.

Should there be "taxi" icon? Is the "taxi" option hidden somewhere else?

Can anyone explain, please?

On both my iPhone and Sony (Android) phones, the Grab App only shows Car, Delivery & Rewards in the Pattaya area.

I *thought* that in the past pressing the Car button brought up the option of GrabCar or GrabTaxi, but regardless, that definitely doesn't happen now.

There is a new option after pressing Car -- "Rent" to "get a car and driver for a duration of your choice.  You can make unlimited stops within this city in one booking."

Here on my Huawei in Thonglor the Grab App shows 7 emoticons :

Car

Bike

Food

Delivery

Groceries

Trip planning

Rewards.

I (My wife) used "Car" a fortnight ago in the early morning to go to Survanabhumi, and the car was a private one.

Finally worked it out.  For a taxi one selects "Car", then enters one's destination, and then click "book".  At that point there's a block at the top saying something like "car".  In fact, it's a disguised scroll list, and one can scroll down to select taxi.

In Chiang Mai I just tried to book a ride to the airport eleven hours from now.

"Sorry, all our drivers are busy".   Business must be booming!  ????
