Biometrics ID System being tested at Phuket Airport

Can't be a whole lot of people that are willing willing to go to all that trouble (constantly getting new passport and new names) just to stay in a country that just isn't that good anymore.

Why would they constantly have toget a new passport? Wouldn’t once be enough?

If it’s a problem here, will it not be a problem in other countries?

Right in cue.....didn't have to wait long for the first "knocker" to appear.    What is it with these people?

Probably because, if you need to change your name to fool the Thai immigration system into not registering you as so-and-so, who has been residing in Thailand for years on TVs and visa exemptions, then with a new name you can't possiblykeep  using the passport with the old name:no scratching out the old data and filling in new information.
