But it does not excuse all the litter and artificial demand for plastic on everything

Normally, plastic items can take up to 1000 years to decompose in landfills, plastic bags we use in our everyday life take 10-1000 years to decompose, while plastic bottles can take 450 years or more.

The sad thing is all plastic containers can be recycled  including plastic fruit punnets and takeaway containers.

Rigid hard plastic trays can be recycled while soft polystyrene trays cannot.

Food tins and drinks cans are made from steel or aluminium both of these items are 100% recyclable  and can be reprocessed again and again without loss of quality and usually are.

So it's not rocket science is it just takes a commitment to do it.

Oh !!  wait a moment to recycle plastic that's takes money we don't want to spend and there's little profit in doing so.
