Nah.    It's just that dash cams and smartphones are getting more ubiquitous.

 

If the same thing happened a few years ago, there would have been no evidence, probably no police report, nobody to point at, and nothing to click on. 

 

Bottom line...  We'd have never heard about it.  Kind of like that "tree falling in the forest" parable.  If it's not on camera, did it really happen?
