building a bamboo fence materials and builders

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I am looking to build a bamboo privacy fence on a rented property because it is completely open to the street and I have no privacy. If landlord agrees I want to find someone to build a 6 foot tall or so bamboo fence but the posts won't be able to sink into the  ground because there is a tile driveway. Anyone out there know where I can hire someone to build this for me about 60 feet of wall.

Thank you and have a nice day,

You'll (whoever) have a difficult job stopping the fence falling over if you can't "sink into the ground"

Yes, the way to go if its open is to set up a simple steel rail fence then fix bamboo to the frame.

A few ways to fix the bamboo, using tie wire to lag each one, actually drilling and sending a coach screw right thro into the steel, drill holes through the sides and secret strap it or set it up with wire first and then trap and fix another rail as a sandwich.

You should treat them with insecticide and then a varnish coat will enhance them and stop them going black in a month.

Probably last 4yrs tops as rain and insects gradually turn them into dust.
