Skip hire/Day laborers

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of buying an old condo. The owner's had 3 months to remove the large amount of stuff in the place, old furniture, mattresses etc. Half has just been dumped in the corridor/communal space. I'm not sure if they're just planing on hoarding this stuff or are just being cheap and not paying to have it removed.

I'd say it would take 2 guys a day to remove everything, can anyone recommend a service around Chiang Mai?

That's why the owner has just left everything for you to deal

with,as its not easy finding casual workers with a truck, have

not seen any skips for hire here. good luck.

It's worked into the contract that everything must be cleared before closing. The agent says if I have to clear it I can let the owner know that I'll  just deduct the cost from the final amount. Can't see that going over well.

Near Kamtiem flower market ,in the morning, there

used to be,maybe still there, lots of people waiting

to picked up for casual work, but you would need to

find a truck to take your stuff away, then take where ?

that's another problem.

In Klong Toey Bangkok the local municipality/district office with send a green refuse dept 5T truck with workers to clear out an old house.

Go to the refuse collection/district office/local municipality yards and ask.

Take some pictures of what you want removed. State what weekend day you will be available etc, etc.

i get a worker or two there occasionally.    they will crowd around your car/truck and all talk at once.  You must have a thai with you to "negotiate" unless you are very competent in thai and dealing with a crowd.

They want to know what work you want done and how much you pay.  You might be surprised (or not) by their attitude.   Choose wisely.....  managing the work agreed upon is also not always easy .

I have had some good ones,  and some that were a pain

There gone. Missus send there was sign put up there saying something along the lines of contact labour department.

There are still some guys hanging around but they are not on the main road any longer.  There's a large area of open ground on the right as you drive from the moat to Kamptien, check out the turning on the right immediately after it.

Every few weeks the police come and bust the people that hire them. The workers all go running in different directions. Then there is nobody for a week or more. Slowly, they begin to come back. Read the laws about hiring them, you may decide to find help elsewhere.
