Perhaps you could explain why you find my post sad, Colin.

I find it sad because you called me a liar.

For those not aware fibbing is another way of saying liar.

You're saying you have the perfect marriage? Have you asked your wife for her opinion?

Would like to hear more anecdotes about the quality of interpersonal chemistry, teamwork as a couple, vibrant sex life after many years together, growing and growing old together, shared values and life goals. Talking about longevity of a relation in and of itself doesn't tell you much about the relationship dynamic.

My experience is that I don't get all of the things you listed but a relationship can be a positive experience with just some of the aspects you mention... there are surely aspects of my relationship that would not work for others, but are ok with me... it is also not just about what I get from a relationship but what I can give... there can be a joy in that too...

I think too often on this forum there are people complaining abt their wives or GF's w/o us getting to see the other side. I knew a guy who used to complain abt his wife - she was lazy etc... I was at his house one day and he was outside in the hammock... she inside. He would look up angrily at her and shake his beer can when it got near empty, as if she should have known and brought him one 2 minutes ago. I could see she hated him. Metaphorically, how many beer can shakers are out there?

I see the same thing as you in walking through a mall. I wonder how many words in common some of these people might have -- and figure none if she doesn't speak some English. There are farang who don't even seem to know that they are in another culture, or what that means.

But then, though I haven't been in a long time, I wonder how many people are walking around malls back home that are smiling happy couples.

The thing I miss most about western Women is the witty banter and true belly laughs and also the ability to discuss problems and not put a lid on it like Thais do . Always felt better getting an issue off my chest even if it ends up an argument and the makeup sex was always great. For me mental stimulation is extremely important and probably why I will never marry a thai because better to be alone than to feel lonely when in a relationship and I see those couples everywhere , sitting in a bar or restaurant both staring off into the distance not saying a single word.. now thats sad

It becomes easier if one gets reasonably proficient in Thai.

I frequently have discussions with my Thai GF on various matters. She's  not one to bottle up her feelings. As far as banter goes, I can send her into hysterics by donning certain items of clothing.

Oh for sure I should have mention that I didn't mean all married couples

I thought I had the perfect marriage till I found a porn video of hers, she must have been watching this filth when I went out. Well after 15 years together the thought of her deceiving me was too much, I decided to leave her. I just hope she has many erotic nights in with her 'Free Willy' video.

sorry to disagree but there's no such thing as perfect marriage, all have ups and downs and mostly downs.... have been married 4 x to 4 different ladies from 4 different countries, all from different education and wealth backgrounds, it all started well but than down hill, most here are making jokes and claiming to have fantastic relationships, good for them but would be nice if they were honest and told it how it is or better yet, should ask their partners opinions, quite sure we would have some funny surprises

First Look at your neighbors and now do you envy their mixed married relationship?

7 dogs in the area.  I have the nicest one.  Not friendliest or prettiest or best smelling but the nicest.  Tony P said of his mountain tribe princess, "she ain't pretty, don't smell good and has a bad disposition but she's all mine."  You can google Tony P.

Rumor has it that you had so much problems with your visa extensions that out of desperation you married a visa agent!

I've never compared with others, how their marriages work is their business, I concentrate on making sure our marriage is focused on common aims and pleasurable, fulfilling, achievements.

I am sure we are all eager to take advice from a four time loser. ????

when u make such comments you are looking at yourself in the mirror, correct? I thought so.

I am going to be polite to avoid being sacked by the mods, so no name calling  but I am sure you get the drift......Who the heck do you think you are,  did I disrespect you in any way or form? do you know me? based on what are you calling me a loser, I am sure you are a low life type guy, pity and shame on you and hope we never meet face to face because if we did, there, I am sure, will be a loser and it will not be me
