I lived in Singapore when everyone still peed in elevators and fought with Thai troops during the Vietnam war.  I moved to South East Asia when I retired 20 years ago.  Given the state of the two countries today I feel much freer in Thailand.

If the table doesn’t help you understand which country is less democratic then let me ask you whether you have seen or heard of anyone snatch of the streets or harassed to army camp for attitude adjustment or whether Singapore has any coups. Is there article 112 or 44 or military personnel visiting schools. Do tell if you really have lived there.

What does Thailand offer to the rest of the world, apart from the obvious illigal activities which can easily be sought in places such as Pattaya Bangkok plus Phuket.

Your view of Thailand is perhaps based on your personal experiences? Most of us actually come to Thailand for different reasons. The economy (unlike EU in particular) is doing just fine. Perhaps I suggest doing your homework first, before making any rash statements on what Thailand can offer. https://commodity.com/thailand/
