SATTAHIP:--Two pedestrians died when they were hit by a pickup truck in Plutaluang.

Jitapa Korkerdboon, 55, died at the scene of the June 12 accident on Sukhumvit Road at the Monument Junction. Supatcharika Chaipala, 42, suffered critical injuries and died later at Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Center.

Boonpeng Sangkapan, 45, the driver of the Isuzu truck that hit the women, suffered a broken bone.

Police said Boonpeng was driving from the Sattahip Pier and lost control entering Sukhumvit, running up on the sidewalk and hitting the two women walking to Monument Park to exercise.

He was held pending further investigation into the cause of the deadly accident.

Speed kills.  These pick-ups are too high powered in the hands of a Thai driver and in the absence of a police force.  Every day a gang of ten 'cops' (word used loosely) mount a stick-up operation at the Ambassador delaying the speed merchants until they can roar off to make up lost time.

Driver training is sadly lacking, but even worse is driving with the " look at me attitude"  i plead with all to drive with a dashcam and forward bad driving images to the police asking for a reply to what action was taken, like the man who drives every morning the wrong way down  the road, if you bombard the local police they will soon get hacked of, dont forget to request a reply that will really get them moving in one direction or another.

"lost control" because their brains can not understand just HOW to drive in safety should NOT be allowed on roads. The so called driving test should be made harder to pass.....
