Dash Cam - Advice/Recommendations needed

Featured Replies

Hi all, I need to purchase a new dash cam, for some unknown reason the one I currently have is recording/ playing back at 4 times normal speed and I cant adjust it.

Anyway I have been on Lazada and seen one that covers the rear view mirror and also has a rear facing camera too. It's made by a firm called Nanotech and is 1300 baht, I tried to google the firm as the info on Lazada is minimal, but no joy there all I got was a company that seems to specialise in auto paint and other stuff.

Any of you have any experience with this type of dash cam or have any feedback or recommendations on other similar makes. Thanks in advance.  ????

Generally the ones that mount on top of the rear view mirror are crap.
A dual cam at that price point is also generally crap. Check the manufacturers site for evidence of support and firmware update downloads for various models they sell. If you can't find it, it means you are buying disposable junk.
Check Lazada for various viofo model cams, the a119v2 is reliable, the new a119v3 has just been released and looks promising. They also have some dual cams. (Not used a dual cam because I have a box of dash cams....just use a second one in the rear.)

Do you have any experience of the mirror one trans ?

Sorry no, if me it would be one fixed on something "solid"..

Friend of mine has one that fits to a mirror. Seems to work fine. Just one small problem when his wife drives the lump turns the mirror to suit her and the camera looks up to the Sky. So they have to faff about resetting it.

Suggest you get one that will fit behind the mirror and out of sight and you'll be better off. Snaps of my one, first taken from lowdown, second from my normal eye view.

Tip, if you decide to go down this route try and get one that has the wires coming out of the top of camera, Makes for easier fitting, without them dangling out of the bottom.
