Can Anyone Recommend Any One Of These Hotels?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Thai gf and I am going to be in BKK for a week in April and I need to find a decent hotel in town where I can also bring our little boy who is 4 years old. Normally I would stay near Nana at the Dynasty but because I have our little boy with us, going to the Dynasty, I really don’t want him seeing the BG’s and the ladyboys going in and out of the Dynasty. I’m bumming too because I wanted to stay at the Dynasty! I don’t know Bangkok at all, but I would like to be in a somewhat central location so we can sightsee around the city or close enough to a place where I can get public transportation to get around the city. Has anyone stayed at any of these 4 hotels in Bangkok?

Twin Towers Hotel

D’MA Pavillion Hotel

Silom City Inn

Prince Palace Hotel

Can anyone suggest a decent place that isn’t more than $75.00 US D a night. I would like more like $50.00 a night if I could get it though.

Any help is truly appreciated and thanks for any suggestions.

Twin Towers Hotel

Prince Palace Hotel

Hi,

I have checked out those two hotels. Twin Towers is good and quite central (although when booking you should state you don't want a room facing the highway). The rooms are HUGE.

Prince Palace is a bit difficult to reach for a taxi (it's VERY busy down there!). Rooms are okay, but not of the same standard as Twin Towers.

Used to bring my kids to the Ambassador, because they have this menagerie of birds and a nice pool.

Hi! I stayed at the Elizabeth, and across the road, the Siam Palace, which were both decent hotels around $35. I was with my fiancee and her son, and the area was free of the sights you cannot avoid at other locales. The Elizabeth was the better of the two hotels.

3* - Bangkok Palace. Price around 1000 B. Central location. Cheap mini-bar.

4* - Indra Regent. Price around 1400-1600 B. Prime location close to Baiyoke Sky and Pratunam.

If you are willing to go up to $75 a night, I would look into either the Rembrandt, the Zenith Sukhumvit or the Tai Pan Hotel. Rembrandt is the nicest with the Zenith a close second and Tai Pan is nice too. All three will be perfectly suitable for kids and not have BG's running around everywhere.
