Natchapol Supattana, aka Mark Pitbull

Thai Civilised Party’s deputy leader Natchapol Supattana, better known as “Mark Pitbull”, announced that he was resigning as party executive to protect his party’s image.

In a Facebook post on Monday, he said he has decided to step down as the party’s deputy leader and member of the executive board because his legal battle with an unnamed high-ranking police officer has started escalating.

“I have just learned that this legal battle is now being treated as a conflict between Thai Civilised Party and the Royal Thai Police,” said Natchapol, who was a social-media personality before he entered politics.

The politician said he decided to give up his posts because he did not want the party to suffer any adverse impacts from the legal dispute.

“I’m now fighting the battle as an ordinary citizen and do not want to be accused of using my position in the political party to bully anybody,” he said, adding that he will hand his formal resignation at the party’s office soon.

The Thai Civilised Party, which campaigned on an anti-junta platform for election but now wants to bring back “whipping for corruption cases”, joined the 18-party coalition after it was allocated one MP seat under the party-list electoral system.

The seat is held by party leader Mongkolkit Suksintharanon.

Oh the irony !

Does that include the massive junta corruption ? Guess not. Is this one of the 11 micro parties that magically got a seat and magically all joined the Pro junta coalition ?

again we see evidence of police getting involved in politics

oh but we had elections

This country has so much potential but greed and power is right were it's at right now

The only international community that is speaking up are people on TVF who see this crap for what it is

eventually it will all catch up - I really feel sorry for the Thai people, it could be so much better

Welcome back to civilisation, I hope you can adjust!

Only one winner here.

The Thai Civilised Party, which campaigned on an anti-junta platform for election but now wants to bring back “whipping for corruption cases.

Unfortunately there wont be enough un-whipped people left to do the corruption case whipping ????

Thankful this is not my country, not my problem and not anything I can do about it.  Just waiting to see what the next episode and the next season brings.

It's a similar plot to previous shows, i.e. Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the locals plod along, watching, waiting and hoping.

Point taken, I can share that my bachelor students are now quite actively talking about the whole situation and wanting more than ever to understand how it all works and with very strong support for FF. and they seem to have decided that the older generations will not drive any serious change so they have to get involved and seriously drive real change. But unfortunately it's not going to happen tomorrow.

If he is resigning to protect his party image, it might mean, that he is at fault.

Shame, he did not resign, when his party joined the junta. Hopefully some his followers will see this as an opportunity to abandon also this party.

Surely, he misled his followers, and voters, who supported him in his anticorruption campaign and had hopes, he will continue his work.

He was only a sidekick for the leader of the party, a far right politician. So nothing is lost. I see it as a good development. He might came back to politics with a better company

Only in Thailand is corporal punishment pushed by people calling themselves "civilized".

Where it's always been, in the hands of the few who rape Thailand for self enrichment.
