The blaze that surprised everyone in Pattaya this morning has been brought under control and the scene identified.

Plumes of dark grey smoke were billowing near a building this morning. The fire started at a site storing construction materials and quickly spread to an abandoned bar next door, called Sor Por Chor in the past. The property was in the Pattaya Dragon Centre in Pattaya 2 road.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and had the fire under control in 30 minutes.

Looks like nothing was left standing.

A good way to leave a rented sinking ship. Burn it, claim for everything inside, plus a bit more, and walk away.

I doubt that the alcohol would have added fuel to the fire.

its that watered down it would probably have doused the flames ????

One less entertainment venue for families to enjoy in the premier resort.

It was an ABANDONED bar... no families will be denied entertainment.

The bar was not abandoned, but being used a storage location for expensive liquor from single malt Scotch and high end blends like J.W. Blue Label, also some Grey Goose, and Bombay Sapphire Gin. 300-400 cases I believe it was.

Oh God no! Say it isn't so!!!

How about the recent fire at a Jim Beam bourbon warehouse in Kentucky (USA).  45,000 barrels of bourbon burned.

And last year, another distiller had a warehouse that could hold 20,000 barrels collapsed.

Just wondering how some poster here know what level of insurance this bar carried  or even if they had any fire insurance at all ?

In the UK pubs have been closing down at an alarming rate for years, unsurprisingly they tend to self ignite within a few months when they can not re let them.
