BANGKOK, 16 July 2019 (NNT) - Thailand is a country known for abundance and diversity in its culinary choice, listed by CNN Travel as one of the top 10 countries with a thriving food culture, with many restaurants and food shops having histories going back for generations.

The Department of Cultural Promotion has joined hands with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and private companies to publish “Bangkok’s 30 Restaurants - a Culinary Heritage shared from Generation to Generation” book, featuring 30 restaurants in Bangkok which have been operating from 36 years to 130 years.

The book documents the history and origin of these restaurants, and their adaptation to modern lifestyles in the digital age in order to maintain their business success.

Authors of this book include famous restaurant writer and columnist Santi Imjaijit, and NBT producer Nisakorn Intharasut. The book editor is Sathita Sorassa from the Thailand Tourism Council and Media Blogger Club, who has published some 30 pocketbooks on tourism and food.

Restaurants featured in this book include Chin Lee crispy noodles, Prajak grilled duck, Sirichai grilled chicken, Rueanpetch, Si Fah, Samsen Villa, Chit Phochana, Methavalai Sorndaeng, Krua Khun Toi, Song palo duck, and Mamesong.

The title is utterly misleading.  It's not "Bangkok’s best 30 Restaurants", but "oldest".

And please they should list Tomyam Kum making it the best.
