BANGKOK, 19th July 2018, (NNT) - The House committee overseeing the Skytrain’s rail extensions has appointed Weerakorn Khamprakob as its chairman.

The first session of the House committee overseeing the Skytrain’s extension of routes was chaired by the New Palangdharm Party-list MP, Dr. Rawee Machamadon. The meeting appointed Mr. Weerakorn, the Palang Pracharath Party MP representing Nakhon Sawan province, as its chairman.

The House committee will call a meeting to discuss progress of work once every two weeks under the 45-day framework. A meeting will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday, starting at 9 a.m. at Sappaya-Sapasathan, a new parliament building in Kiak Kai, Bangkok.

The committee was formed after a motion was filed by Dr. Rawee, the Pheu Thai Party MP representing Mukdahan province, Anurak Tangpanithanon, and the Pheu Thai Party MP representing Maha Sarakham province, Yutthapong Charassathien. The legislators wanted a committee to be set up to consider operation of the concessions of the Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM).
