The best neighbor: The first trailer for the movie A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood was shared on Monday morning

The first official trailer for the movie A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood was shared on Monday morning.

In the sweet clip, Tom Hanks is seen playing TV star Mister Rogers who entertained children for decades with his daytime series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, which aired from 1968 until 2001.

The film is based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod.

A magazine writer (played by Matthew Rhys) interviews Fred Rogers (Hanks) and gets the surprise of his life.

Great actor but this is a bit tame and US centric.

Agreed, but could still be worth a look, as Matthew Rhys is also a very fine actor. Terrific in The Americans.

Hope it doesn't turn into another product placement disaster like some of his other movies.

To the poster that was puzzled- tell me how the movie about a man stuck in the airport wasn't product placement gone manic. "Take me to the Nike shop" Garbage!
