Now the battery is getting towards four years old and it's telling me nearly time to replace.

Ford want 3700 +200thb fitting + VAT. So am wondering about getting a battery shop to change who I would expect to be somewhat cheaper.

So am wondering Everest owners what did you do when it was time to replace ...tks

4 years old you have done well.

I don't have a Ford but assume that they would have an 80AH battery. Same as a Tuna. Toyo are like ford expensive. I always find a GS sealed battery 85AH (don't think they do an 80AH one) does the job for me. Cost for that 3.500bt but my local battery shop will give me 500bt for the old one. They also fit for free.

N/B I don't know about ford but after fitting a new battery some of the bits on a Toyo don't work. Auto windows will take 24 hours to reset. Just wind them up and down a few times and they reset themselves. It will also wipe out some of the stuff on the satnav like home address so that might have to be reset.

Perhaps a small Dealer or Mon n Pop Shop will cause Data to disappear, but all Battery outlets these day plug a gadget into the OBD , or add mini powerpack as they remove the old one. I wouldn’t patronize anyone here who didn’t.All your seat memories would go along with other data.

I just asked Ford to replace the battery. I changed mine on my Everest after about 2.5 years.

Yes...after looking around that is the way I will go...especially as I still have over a year of the extra warranty that I purchased when new. Think I may just have been lucky with this battery but it does get a dose of CTEK every few weeks.

Big difference in costs A battery for say a Camry is only about 1800 max for a MF. Diesel need those big amps to turn them over.

I lost all my data on my old Tuna Twice. Not had to change battery on new one yet so??? Now why did I lose data well because on both occasions batteries were as dead as a Dodo first thing in the morning. So no matter what they put on when they fit new battery I had lost it already.

I didn't get shop to do it then as I couldn't move my car so had to get a new battery on the M/C and do it myself.

Perhaps you need a new Alternator. Most Dealers send out someone to You, in a case such as yours.

The car was over 8 years old so not surprising that it needed batteries. On both occasions I had left it for a week unused, came back and the Battery was duff. I do have a full check on electrics every time I service it, and every time I get a good report. I would have change it if I had prior knowledge.

A battery can go T/t's up without any warning.
