Video: Yikes it's a monk in a temple - I'm off!

A video from a temple in the north east of Thailand showed a thief trying to force a door using what looked like a scythe. 

 

When the thief successfully opens the door he is surprised that there is a monk on the other side. He flees the scene. 

 

Earlier he had emptied the contents of a donation box. 

 

The incident happened at Wat Pa Kung an isolated temple with just two monks in Jomsri sub-district of Loei, reported Naew Na. 

 

Several thefts recently that netted 30,000 baht prompted the abbot to install a CCTV system.

 

The footage is now helping Chiang Khan police with their inquiries.
