Popular Post sunnyboy2018
Is this legislation from when the military hung democracy protesters and burn tgem alive. This kind of legislation is totalitarian in concept and is reminiscent of the old Soviet Union. Incredibly cumbersome and generates additional work for IO staff. I live in Pattaya and use it as a base to travel all round Thailand. I leave Thailand twice a year. I have never been asked for a TM. Nor have I been required to attend IO within 24 hours. Problematically The information in this thread contradicts the information in the thread entitled 'TM 30 Meeting"
Popular Post Issannative
This is the problem as after that meeting as we all know was a sham. Not on the part of the ppl trying to help but on the other part. That nothing will change it will always be confusing as long as local offices are allowed to do as they like so all we can go by is local reportsSent from my LDN-LX2 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app 3

I'd hazard a guess it's different for most other people. Yep. It's only been 40 years since the regulation has been passed and I'm sure the tech will catch up real soon. There are no hoops. About 40 years. It´s not been enforced before, hence no need for any tech. Really clever to start talk about 40 years, right? 2

Popular Post jonclark
If true.. I feel every single expat / foriegn should go away this weekend and then all turn up en masse at CW on Monday morning and lay seige to the place. And repeat every Monday. Having 20 to 30,000 people turning up each and every Monday to file tm30 would bring the system to a grinding halt. 8

Popular Post smedly
what I find troubling it the work I am having to do just to stay within the ridiculous rules they are now enforcing. - Report this report that on a certain date or if you do a certain thing - Banking restrictions - Transfer fees - Thai currency inflation/manipulation (the BAHT should not be a floating currency) - Go for a pleasure ride for a few hours and get stopped/harassed by cops every 30mins - Jump through hoops legally trying comply with financial requirements while others just bypass these rules with agents and bribes - Travel in country for a few days using hotels and they can't work out I still stay at my primary residence of many years. What they need is a simple dual system, one that allows people to register a permanent residence designed for expats and retires, then another system/process for short stay, it would show your movement in country but not effect your registered permanent address until you actually decide to change it. I am retired but it doesn't feel like it, I am working with this stuff so much now that I should probably have a work permit - maybe that is next Edited August 10, 2019 by smedly 5 1
jacko45k
Perhaps we will all be required to turn on Location Services on our phones 24/7, and supply Thai Immigration with our Google passwords so they can track us?

otherstuff1957
So far, I have been able to do my 90 day reports without having filed a TM30. I suppose I will have to file one and pay the fine when I do my next Visa extension, which will then become out of date as soon as I go on a trip. If I can continue doing this, I will just consider it to be an 'annual travel fee!'

At Changwattana if you arrive before the queue closes (4pm?) they stay open to process everyone. I sometimes go late in the afternoon. If everyone shows up every Monday, officers will soon be exhausted, some may resign. That's the way to change TM30! No need to go anywhere, just say you did. Fill out one TM30 except for the date and make 100s of copies. And do it Thai style, show up with a big smile, "Hi, I'm here to file TM30!" Lol. They will change their mind fast.

Do they think I'm gonna waste my time filing a TM 30 while on a weekend break? Why is the Thai Govt doing this? Are they afraid we might take over the country? Maybe they might take notice if we all refused to comply? Though I can't see the Farang community having the balls to stand together.
