Popular Post spidermike007
Nothing will change in Pattaya. That town, Bangkok and Hua Hin appear to be holding their own, against the forces of puritanism, and holy work. CM, Phuket and Samui have already succumbed and are pale shadows of their former selves. There are some things that will not be affected by this fake holiness and fake cleansing of the nation. Let us hope the current rule of the hapless and insincere army is just a blip on the screen in the long term. Eventually the youth will force them out. I am convinced of that.
yodsak
The area is at the back of the top end of soi 6. Don't panic, Iconic Soi 6 won't be affected. Maybe lose the view from some of the short time rooms. The 7/11's gone and Mcdonalds [2nd road ]

Popular Post sunnyboy2018
Soi 6 is dreadful. The girls are not pretty. The bars play the worst music in the world except Scooters and the foreigners are low class footie fan types. WS is much more fun and less sordid. 1 1

Since when does the sleazy bar and bargirl scene become iconic. Must only be iconic to the ones that degrade themself to frequently indulge inthe forever boozing and eating a piece of flesh a couple of times a week. So, as asummary. We should be very sad if the sex expat and the sex tourist are leaving Thailand. As I said, you must be joking. You must be joking. Of all the places in the world to live and of all the places in Thailand to live you chose to live in the sex capital of the world. But if you like WS, go for it hope those flags don´t hit you in the face. 2

Soi 6 is a National Treasure.....Soi 6 should be declared a World Heritage site...Soi 6 is world famous and Pattaya should be proud of it.....Thailand at its finest is what I say...... I can still see me sitting there with my "big love Rin from Buri Ram" whom I almost married. Almost. Thank god that I didn't. I should make a merit that I didn't. The Brit who ran the bar was cool, always a great chat and it will always be a positive memory. But that was over 20 years ago. I agree, it should be one of the World Wonders, even before the "Great Chinese Wall". Holy Pattaya Soi 6 forever!! Popular Post JemJem
Come on guys, some sleaze is better than no sleaze ???? I haven't been a bar-frequenting person for many years now (I used to like it quite a lot in the 90's and early 00's), but such places add some spice and fun to life. Those who don't like such stuff need not go to such venues anyway; there are already lots of malls etc to go to. I don't know Pattaya much, but I know the main nightlife areas (both redlight and non-redlight) of Bangkok quite well and I have observed the changes over the many years. It is sad to see that many bars, pubs etc have now become malls, minimarts, etc. This trend is sadly likely to continue. 3

Nicer beach, more laid back and less work would be needed on renovation and reputation..

If that happens (in the next 10 years) I will eat my balls (well maybe not). I don't see it that way.... I live here and soi 6 is just not necessary to me, as there are so many alternatives. More worrying is the trend to remove these 'attractions' and replace them with sterile shopping Malls, hotels and condos. One day we will be close to having nothing of the old Pattaya scene left, little to keep me here. Might as well move to Hua Hin and get slippers and a wheelchair. 4

Popular Post Pedrogaz
Someone should explain to the authorities that places like Soi 6 bring in far more money into the economy than any busloads of Indians and Chinese. As for making a family friendly resort.....I don't have any market research data on this but I suspect that not too many families want raw sewage being let out into the sea and onto the beaches....so best to avoid Pattaya as raw sewage seems to be an unfixable problem for the authorities.
