Dengue fever

Featured Replies

I am currently recovering from Dengue, values all going up again. The most annoying thing is the itcht rash and the swollen hands. At the hospital they told me there is no remedy for the rash, just need to wait it out. Anybody has any idea how to allievate the rush?

Thanks in advance

An antihistamine tablet or lotion may help with the itching.

I'd start with lotion e.g one containing diphenhydramine. There are many brands, often combining this with calamine lotion.

If no relief then I'd probably try tablet. Loratadine if you want to avoid drowsiness, HYdroxyzine if you want help sleeping.

These are all OTC and any pharmacy has them.

Elomet is the best rash cream I have found in Thailand. It is Mometasone Furoate.
