RIA Financial @ GSB: sending money home

First time I used RIA was earlier this year. The money hit my account on a Sunday.

Last Saturday, the clerk said that they only do cash payouts in Germany. Oh well.

- Found the German website, but the search for branches has been dismal.

- Has anyone managed to send money to their bank accounts more recently?

* IBAN and BIC => no 3rd party to pay for their service, more money for RIA. And most people do have bank accounts...

Am suspecting that the clerk wasn't sure about the bank account thing and made up an excuse.

May I ask this in the Pattaya forum , because I believe Bangkok may be different Air conditioned bars , i am observing they get less customers, do you believe I'm correct ? I had a farang recently who told me that particular bar failed as it had glass windows and was air conditioned, I was absolutely and what's the word.... gobsmacked! Does it make you consider stepping in perhaps some hesitation ? and opening the glass doors to go in , do you prefer open bars and why ? I didn't notice

Nothing new as America has been living on credit for the past 50 years. The only thing that saves the USA is their immense gold reserves that partially are due to the very large amounts of gold seized by America at the end of WW2. Seizure that was claimed as "compensation" for their involvement and sacrifices in WW2. But now that the Saudis have discarded the dollar as the universal payment of oil and realising that America in fact does not have the means to secure the oil production facilities in the Gulf, Russians and Chinese and who knows one day maybe the Indians, will take over. Guess every bully nation has it's day ?

The problem with doing it this way round, though, is that, assuming that her account name is expressed in Thai script as is likely the case, transfers will almost certainly fail because of Wise's requirement for recipient account names to be only stated in anglicised script. I can vouch for this on the basis of personal experience with an unsuccessful test transfer I attempted with Wise to my wife's Thai account some time ago on the basis of the anglicised version of her name. Doing it as suggested by @scubascuba3 will avoid this issue arising since the OP's Thai bank account name is probably recorded in anglicised script (as my Thai bank account names are).
