Southern Thailand suffers fallout from Indonesia’s forest fires

People in the southern provinces of Thailand are suffering severe consequences from the smoke cloud coming from Indonesia’s forest fires in the Sumatra and Borneo islands.

The smoke has covered the South since September 1 and the situation worsened on Sunday (September 8).

The pollution has led to fine particulate matter in the air exceeding safe levels. PM2.5 has risen to 73 micrograms per cubic metre, according to researchers at Prince of Songkla University.

People have been advised not to spend much time outdoors.

Can we not just one thread on the Southern Haze rather than start a new topic every day!

Don't worry to much in 5 months it will be in the north. CM topped 500 ppm last year, so the 73 seems quite moderate.

PM2.5 around 90µg/m3 today in Hat Yai, could do with some rain.

Though thankfully the wind is keeping the worst of it to the south.

Perhaps the Chiang Mai ptb can lend the leaf blowers provided by the military last year to disperse the smog.

Won't be needed up here for at least another 4 or 5 weeks.

There is absolutely no way I can understand the level of ignorance in a "leader" of a country that is very successful compared o it's neighbours.
