Car Rental Companies

Featured Replies

Any recommendation for car rentals in Pattaya? I'm looking to rent a car for about 5 days, unlimited mileage. Any issues or concerns I should be aware of?

OP just make sure the car has full Class 1 Insurance and current tax.

I would always use one of the big companies Hertz, Avis etc. If you book on line can often get good discounts.

They are all franchises & run by Thais which is beside the point.

I prefer to deal with small well run businesses & that includes where I go to eat & socialise.

I stay away from the big franchises.

I've used Expat Car Rental in Jomtien several times, they're right by the giant LED advertising sign where Thepprasit meets Thappraya, and they've been fine. I also know quite a few expats who've used them and been happy with the service.

(Insurance policies here don't usually include a replacement car if you are involved in an accident and need to get your chariot fixed, so many people eventually find that they have a reason to rent a car at some stage of their driving experiences in Pattaya.)

All their cars have First Class insurance which is important, you need the bail bond just in case you're involved in a serious accident.

Then you would need to confirm that you actually get renter's insurance and not have to pretend to be a family friend for the insurance company.
