PHUKET: Phuket City Police and Phuket City Municipality have both issued warnings over dangerous use of firecrackers during the ongoing Phuket Vegetarian Festival, especially the practice of throwing firecrackers into crowds of people either taking part in the street processions or lining the roads watching the festivities.

Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commander Col Phakin Na-ranong warned that persons would be charged for throwing any firecrackers that cause injury and damage to property.

Col Phakin pointed out that a charge of bodily harm under Section 390 of the Criminal Code can result in a sentence of up to a month in jail or a fine of up to B1,000, or both.

FIRECRACKERS?

Warn people of the danger of stabbing one's face with TWO SWORDS!

Warnings coming from discredited sources, seem to be largely ignored by an equally discredited public.
