Featured Replies

daft question i know but does anyone out there have any interest in thai football?

when i lived there i couldn t be arsed with it. thai farmers bank playing the the port authority just didn t do it for me

has anything changed or improved yet?

now i m in indonesia things are much more fun football wise. there's healthy crowds, crap football and local rivalry :D

indonesian football

any good thai football sites :o

Not much has changed. They have merged with the provincial league now but only two teams from the provinces are in the top division so we still got boring matches between companies who nobody cares about. It will be the same untill the provincial teams start getting promoted and the companies get relegated. Can't see it happening anytime soon though as the companies have more money (not much) to attract the better thai players. Going to watch the national team play is always fun though.

I've tried to watch a couple of games on Supersport but haven't really got into. The pitches always look to be in poor quality and having a crowd of 300 in the stadium doesn't really add to the atmosphere.

With the top Thai players going to play in Vietnam, Singapore etc. it just goes to show how poor the Thai league is overall.

I agree that if they could get the money into the provinces similar to Vietnam and Malaysia then it could generate more interest. I'm sure if a town or city in the north had a decent football team then the crowds would follow.
