Dual citizen wishes to change visa to other passport.

Featured Replies

I am a dual national and have had a non-O visa based on retirement for several years extended annually. The passport of the nationality which now has the visa extension has very poor customer service and I am sick of dealing with them. I would like to change the visa to my other passport. Does anyone know what is involved in this and/or how to do it?

Can't see that being possible, if the visa was issued to PP number xxxxxxxx and the name in the paspport it would mean there would be a way to change a visa number.!!!!!

Looks like you need to apply for a visa using your other passport.

You appears to have a extension of stay based upon retirement issued by immigration not a visa.

The only way you could use your other passport to apply for a new one would be to go out to get a new non-o visa and then apply for a new extension in it.

You have to fly out of the country using your current passport and enter the other country where you would apply for the new visa at using the other passport.

Thanks folks. I am traveling at the moment and I will apply at the Thai embassy where I am staying. Do you know if there is any penalty for having two visas current at the same time?

No such rule exists plus you would would only have one valid visa and a valid extension of stay in another passport.
