Great news - Khon Kaen number 4! Will get better when the new terminal opens and we get more direct international and domestic flights avoiding Bangkok (thank God).

First arrived in April 1994. Down the gangway, walking over the boiling hot tarmac to a barrack.

Three TG flights a day to/from Bangkok.

Air traffic has exploded.

It's a shame it's categorised on the number of flights/passengers rather than customer satifaction.

I feel sure the list would change if it were done that way.

I would agree, when I first arrived in KK, KKC had those horrible TG A330 flights to BKK.

Then arrived Air Asia, Nok, Lion and the reimagined TG as Thai Smile, with super low prices which sure did make passenger numbers explode.

But those super low prices, which really aren't that much different to that of a 10 hour bus ticket to Bangkok, have also contributed to the financial woes of the LCC's as documented in a previous thread.

When the sh**t eventually hits the fan and the economic realities of offering bus ticket prices for a seat on an airplane come home to roost, be prepared for a drastic scaling back!
