Tourist Visa sub class 600 Question 27

Featured Replies

Hi,

Applying for a tourist visa for my wife to visit Oz with me next year.

On application for sub class 600 visa Q. 27 asked do you have any relatives in Australia?

Does this mean any blood relatives of hers ...which she doesn't, or does it mean relatives from marriage..i.e. any of my family as they are relatives by marriage?

Bit confused by this as can't find any answer to this question online.

I think they really mean blood relatives, as this indicates a further reason for requesting a visa, to visit family. However, in that particular question on the form there's the space that asks "Relationship to you" so as your wife is legally married to you I'd answer yes and fill in the relatives by marriage stating "Mother in Law", "Father in Law", and so forth.

Thanks TSF.

Really don't want to have to put in all the family as I have 10 brothers and sisters...lol.

Maybe I could put a few of them.

If it was me I'd be inclined to put in my father & mother only, stating relationship as in-laws, certainly wouldn't go listing bros & sis & aunts & uncs.

Thanks TSF,

Parents are dead, but took your advice and just put a couple of sisters down.

Cheers
