A question for people who are in South Thailand and have come by plane on 30 days visa exempt recently from Kuala Lumpur to Surat Thani, Krabi, Hat Yai or Hua Hin. These flights from KL are cheap but how friendly each of these airports are? My passport is far from empty but it will be my last visa-exempt ever as I'm getting married early next year and get the proper visa. I am only looking for an answer from people with experience flying from KL to these airports or have someone they know who has done it. And also the "proof of" if needed. I have never been asked anything in Chiang Mai or Khon Kaen airport but I don't know about South Thailand. Google is often inaccurate and out-dated.

 

p.s: 2 months ago I enter on 30 days visa exempt in CM (from Luang Prabang), so I want to avoid a back-to-back even tho I know how friendly CM airport is. As a side note, I always travel with my Thai GF. In CM airport last time they simply ask me before going to the booth my purpose of stay, I pointed to my GF and then they laugh and talked a bit together (my GF and the security guy). Seems like having a Thai GF help a lot in these situations. I am obv out of border run entry for this year.

All of them are OK except for Krabi. Many reports of them denying entry.

Thx you, I heard that about Krabi too, but nobody ever talk about the other 3 which are very cheap to enter from KL.

 

On the date that I want to enter Thailand, Krabi and Surat Thani are the cheapest (below 1k baht). 

 

Correct me if I am wrong but if I get denied in Surat Thani, the only direct flight for them to send me back is KL, right?

 

Also, do you know if they ask for any proof of? I can have access to 20k baht and my Thai GF will be with me, but I have never been asked that for either border bounce or air entry.

Best ot have the cash if asked for it. For visa exempt it is 10k baht.
