I am a diabetic and allergic to methformide what you can get in every pharmacy in Thailand.

How ever I need as a replacement Diamicron and Trajenta. In The Netherlands only € 4.90 and € 7.80 for a pack of 30 days. In Thailand at the whole sale 850 and 1950 THB  for the same 30 days. They're imported and heavily taxed. When getting them in my hospital 1950 and 3950 THB !!! Every time someone is coming over from The Netherlands I have my doctor in NL subscribed them and have them picked up in a local pharmacy.

You need to go online and type the name of the drug and check for a genetic version. Sometimes you won't find the generic name and will have to buy the original. Then go and check the prices at 4 or 5 pharmacies to get a feel for a reasonable price. See if they have all the meds that you need, and if they will send by EMS, and play it by ear from there.

Co-Diovan 80/125 mg cost 598 per pack of 28 and I take 1/2 tablet per day.

Dilatrend 25 mg cost 280 for 10 take 1 tablet daily

Bestatin 20 mg cost 155 for 100 take 1 tablet daily

Orfarin 3 mg cost 475 per 100 take 1 1/2 tablet daily

Orfarin 5 mg cost 550 per 100 take 1/2 tablet daily

Glucophage 500 mg cost 27 strip of 10 take 2 tablets daily

 

I have been using them for over 10 years now with no ill effects

 

 

I hope you have had a few check ups over the last ten years with a doctor to make sure the medicine and dosage as still appropriate.

Yup on a yearly basis and my Doc confirmed tat every one  of the ones I bought in India were as good and in some cases better

I went to a clinic attached to a dental hospital in Chiang Mai suburbs. Saw a doctor, then a specialist, and was given two prescriptions to pick up after payment to cashier. The cashier wouldn't take my Visa card. She said the minimum I could charge was 500b and my bill was 400b. Even with Medicare insurance in the U.S. that whole thing would have cost at the very least 2100b. I'm happy with my medical bills, so far.

There is no locally made generic of this in Thailand. So here you are buying the brand name which is imported.

 

Imported meds are expensive here. Not only is there the cost of importing on top of the original retail price,  but there is a customs tariff applied. So imported drigs will cost more here than in most western countries.

 

Locally made drugs on the other hand are usually quite affordable.  Thai generics cost more in Cambodia than in Thailand. Western imports cost much less in Cambodia than in Thailand.

Even the most expensive hospitals in Bangkok are cheap for medicine and health care compared to USA. A bargain 

Meds are cheap as long as they are produced here and you buy them in independent drug stores, not in international chain stores.

How many mg and how many tablets per strip?

 

I buy Glucophage 500 mg (the generic name for Metformin) at 23 baht for a strip of 10 in a pharmacy.
