Does True have limits on what routers it supports?

Featured Replies

I want to buy this router to use with my cable connection: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/best-seller-asus-rt-ac68u-dual-band-wireless-ac1900-gigabit-router-by-newvision4unet-i118711673-s123513555.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.2.72b83a47hjpWjc&search=1

Anyone upgrade their own router? Did it require calling a technician to make the switch?

Also, is all router hardware generally safe for use with any ISP these days or do there tend to be ISP level compatibility concerns with certain brands/models?

I use that router (bought in an offline shop) on my TRUE line and it works fine.

You wont be able to replace the True router with this, but you will be able to connect this to the True router and have it handle either the wifi only, or preferably all of your routing. But with the latter you will need to request True put their router into "bridge mode" so that it no longer does any routing.  Bridging is very common now, and all the thai ISPs should support it. If True doesn't then the next best thing will be to set up DMZ LAN port on their router and connect your own router to that LAN port. That's how I set things up when I had True.

If True doesn't

They do - well they did for me late last year.
