Niyom Termsrisuk

Responding to information from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that amphetamine from Mexico is being smuggled to Asian countries including Thailand, Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB)’s secretary general, Niyom Termsrisuk said this week that no reports about such smuggling had been received and that, in any case, importing the drug to Thailand was difficult.

“Amphetamine and methamphetamine are already being produced in the Golden Triangle and neighbouring areas,” he noted. “The cost of importing amphetamine from Mexico is higher than from these countries. And besides, cocaine is more popular than amphetamine in Mexico.”

In addition, the substrate of methamphetamine found in Myanmar mentioned by the DEA was more likely to have been produced in a laboratory rather than part of  mass production in a factory. “Ninety per cent of the drug’s chemical content or substrate was produced in the Golden Triangle” he said.

ONCB is aware of smugglers using Thailand as a route to smuggle pure ice, which has heroin as an ingredient, from the Golden Triangle to the US.

"...pure ice, which has heroin as an ingredient"

Won't be pure then, will it!

Importing Meth into Thailand, from Mexico, would be like taking coals to Newcastle (a saying,

not true now) there is plenty been produced in Burma and exported from Thailand.

regards worgeordie

Excluding the half ton of Mexican meth smuggled in electric motors from Thailand to New Zealand earlier this year. It’s been proven by more than one international organisation that Mexican meth does indeed travel through here on its way south. Head in sand again.

I call that BS! Ice is just another form of Amphetamines, which Yaba belongs to. There's no heroin in Ya ice.

Totally different drugs, some might enjoy the so called "speedballs", a mixture of speed and heroin. But that's not produced together.

I'm wondering who made that up? mexico is well known for using Fentanyl for the heroin production coming from China.

Using the dark web, anybody can order it and get it delivered. It's China's fault that so many people in the US and other places died and will die overdosed.

It's pretty easy to produce speed.

Especially the dirty <deleted> Jaba.

Aye carumba ...

I think they were just giving them information that they had seen some shipments.  I guess he is upset because Asian is better?

Pure Ice does not routinely contain heroin. Only if users want a combo drug, at that point it would be given a different name.
