Me and my wife visited the UK back in August, she obtained a visit visa valid for 6 months.  When we returned to Thailand we booked to fly back in December (tomorow actualy) and figured we would need to apply again, but then noticed the visa is multiple entry, valid until late January.  I posted on here a few months back to ask if the multiple entry visa would be good for a second visit and the resounding answer was yes.

A friend of mine just told me however that yes the visa is multiple entry for the 6 month period, but as we havent filled out an application for this second visit and I havent provided sponsorship for this second visit, that might invalidate the visa.  Im freaking out a little now as I just assumed a multiple entry visa would mean we would not need to fill out a second application, submit bank docs and sponsorship letters etc.

Is he wrong in this assumption?  Does anyone know?

Thanks

Your friend is wrong, your wifes visa is valid for the second visit, she must of course leave the UK on or before the expiry date on the visa.

The Border Force Officer will probably ask the reason for the visit, as they probably did in August, but she's perfectly legal as her visa allows for what you guys are doing, just enjoy the trip.

My wife has a visa with a five year validity, she certainly didn't itemise her proposed visits over a five year period when she applied for it, and has entered a number of times without any problems, many have ten year visas, they certainly did out ten years worth of travel in advance.

That makes me feel better oldgit, much appreciated, thanks.

Definitely not true from your friend. Similar to the poster above, my wife has the 10 year tourist visa and doesn't have to apply again for each visit.
